Terms of service

Last updated 2026-04-22. These are a starting point — have a lawyer adapt them to your jurisdiction before going live.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or calling any API through OneAPIKey, you agree to these terms. If you're using OneAPIKey on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company.

2. The service

OneAPIKeyis a paid developer platform that proxies your API calls to third-party AI providers (the "Upstream Providers"). We hold accounts with those providers and charge you for usage plus a disclosed markup.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping API keys and login credentials secret.
  • All usage from a key is your responsibility. Revoke keys immediately if leaked.
  • You must be 18+ and must not resell the service without written permission.

4. Billing

  • Pay-as-you-go: we charge you once a checkout session completes; credit is added to your balance.
  • Subscriptions: monthly fee + metered usage beyond included credit, billed in arrears.
  • Prices are CPI-indexed and may be rebased up to once per month. We show the effective unit price on each API's detail page.
  • All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use OneAPIKey to:

  • Violate Upstream Provider usage policies (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic).
  • Generate illegal content, CSAM, targeted harassment, or malware.
  • Attempt to extract our credentials or other customers' data.
  • Circumvent rate limits, abuse the proxy, or resell at below our cost.

6. Service availability

We target "best effort" availability on the free tier and 99.9% for paid plans. We don't guarantee any particular upstream provider stays available — we do attempt automatic fallbacks when you opt in.

7. Data

Request metadata (timestamps, token counts, status, key prefix) is stored for billing and analytics. By default we do not store prompts or responses. You can opt into body logging for your own debugging.

8. Liability

OneAPIKeyis provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. On termination, your keys are revoked; remaining pre-paid balance is refundable on request for 30 days.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; we'll email users about material changes. Continued use after the change date counts as acceptance.
